Representations of Hoarding in the Media

Hoarding has become a subject of representation in the media as of late. In terms of television, Animal Planet’s animal police shows frequently feature episodes of the police dealing with animal hoarders and the trauma of cleaning out the homes of the overload of pets. Other shows focus on people who accrue stuff, including TLC’s Hoarders: Buried Alive and A&E’s Hoarders.
